Bayer Leverkusen join race to sign Senegal star Krépin Diatta
Senegal international Krépin Diatta has emerged as a transfer target for Bayer Leverkusen in the current transfer window following his exit from AS Monaco.
The versatile winger, who recently parted ways with French club AS Monaco following the expiration of his contract, has attracted interest from several clubs after becoming a free agent on July 1.
According to reports, Bayer Leverkusen have been impressed by Diatta’s profile and are keen to add the Senegalese attacker to their squad ahead of the new season. The German side are believed to be exploring the possibility of securing his services without paying a transfer fee, making the deal an attractive opportunity.
Diatta, who can operate on both wings as well as in more advanced attacking roles, brings valuable experience from his time in Ligue 1 and on the international stage with Senegal. His pace, versatility and ability to contribute in both attacking and defensive phases have reportedly made him an appealing option for Leverkusen.
However, Bayer Leverkusen are not alone in their pursuit of the 26-year-old. English Premier League club Crystal Palace are also said to be monitoring the situation and could compete for his signature.
With no contract tying him to Monaco, Diatta now has the freedom to decide his next destination as he looks to continue his career at a new club. The Senegalese international is expected to weigh his options carefully before making a final decision on his future.
