German side Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing France-born defender of Ivorian descent, Axel Tape.
The 17-year-old who is a product of Paris Saint-Germain’s famed academy is reportedly set to join the Bundesliga champions on a free transfer.
According to German media, Tape has already passed his medical and is expected to sign a deal that will keep him at Leverkusen until 2030.
Leverkusen are preparing for a significant squad overhaul this summer, following the departure of several key figures from Xabi Alonso’s title-winning side.
With Ten Hag at the helm, the club appears focused on building a youthful and dynamic squad for the future and Tape is seen as one of the first pieces of that puzzle.
The teenage centre-back made his senior debut for PSG in the closing rounds of the Ligue 1 season and also featured in the early stages of the domestic cup campaign, where he impressed with his composure and defensive awareness.
The deal is expected to be completed by close of this week.
