Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning German champions, are already strategizing for the upcoming season and have set their sights on a promising talent: Burkinabé international Dango Ouattara. The 22-year-old winger, known for his left foot prowess, has attracted interest from several top-tier clubs in both England and Germany.

Dango Ouattara, currently playing for Bournemouth in the English Premier League, is also on the radar of newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

However, it is Bayer Leverkusen that appears most eager to secure his services. According to Africafoot, Leverkusen is keen on bringing Ouattara on a season-long loan with an option to purchase.

Presently engaged with the Burkina Faso national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Ouattara has reportedly delegated his representatives to discuss potential terms with Bayer Leverkusen scouts.

These discussions cover the conditions and specifics of a potential transfer, including loan details and future purchase options.

Ouattara’s tenure at Bournemouth has seen him frequently deployed as a left-back, a position he is not particularly enthusiastic about.

He prefers playing as a right winger, where he believes his skills can be best utilized.

This positional mismatch might be a driving factor behind his interest in a move, where he hopes to play in his favored role.

During the current season, Ouattara has made 30 appearances for Bournemouth, starting in over ten of those matches.

Despite the limited starts, he has managed to score one goal and provide three assists. Ouattara’s journey from Lorient to Bournemouth in January 2023 came with a transfer fee of €22 million.

However, his market value has slightly dipped to €20 million, as per Transfermarkt.

A move to Bayer Leverkusen could be a significant step for Ouattara, offering him the chance to compete at a high level in the Bundesliga and possibly regain his preferred playing position.

For Leverkusen, acquiring such a versatile and dynamic player could strengthen their squad as they prepare to defend their title and compete in European competitions.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Dango Ouattara’s next move, with fans and analysts keen to see if the Burkinabé prodigy will make his mark in the Bundesliga.
