Bayer Leverkusen confirm Victor Boniface contract
Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed that Victor Boniface’s contract extends beyond the previously reported 2028 expiry date.
The Bundesliga club told Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger that the Nigerian striker is tied to the team until 2029, with the additional year never publicly announced.
The clarification adds an important detail to discussions about Boniface’s future. Although Leverkusen have confirmed the longer agreement, the 25-year-old remains available for a possible move during the current transfer window.
Boniface spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen, where he continued his career away from Leverkusen. His temporary spell has now prompted the Bundesliga club to consider several options, including another loan or a permanent sale.
A complete departure is not guaranteed, however. Leverkusen could also keep the striker as a squad option, with a substitute role still possible under the club’s plans for the new campaign. His physical presence and ability to lead the attack could provide useful depth during a demanding season.
The newly revealed contract length gives Leverkusen greater control over negotiations. Any interested club would need to reach an agreement with the German side, which can now assess proposals without the immediate pressure of an expiring deal.
For Boniface, the coming weeks should determine whether he returns to Leverkusen, seeks another loan or begins a permanent chapter elsewhere.
