Batshuayi linked with Al-Shabab move as Saudi clubs target Frankfurt striker

Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi is the subject of a reported move from Frankfurt to Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab.

The 32-year-old centre-forward joined Frankfurt from Galatasaray on 3 February 2025 in a transfer reported at €3m. He remains under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2027, meaning any move would require an agreement between the two sides rather than a free transfer.

Batshuayi’s career includes spells in England, France, Spain, Germany, Belgium and Turkey. He has made 26 Bundesliga appearances and scored 11 goals in the competition, while his strongest statistical return has come in the Turkish Super Lig, where he has scored 43 times in 97 appearances.

He has also won league titles in England and Turkey, the FA Cup with Chelsea and the Spanish Cup with Valencia. With Belgium, he was part of the team that finished third at the 2018 World Cup.

His current market value is listed at €2m. Batshuayi’s potential move to Al-Shabab remains a rumour, with the striker still contracted to Frankfurt through the end of June 2027.
