Michy Batshuayi Adapting to Life at Marseille Amid Fierce Competition
Belgian U21 striker Michy Batshuayi is gradually finding his feet at Olympique de Marseille after his summer move, though playing time has been limited so far this season.
Batshuayi has featured in four of Marseille’s opening matches, often coming off the bench as he competes with established striker André-Pierre Gignac for a starting spot.
The 20-year-old is well aware of the challenge ahead. Speaking to La Dernière Heure, Batshuayi said: “When I went to Marseille, I expected it. It’s a bigger club and not just any competition. Gignac is a world-class striker.”
The young forward will be looking to build on his early appearances and stake a claim for more regular playing time as the season progresses.
