Borussia Dortmund are being linked with a move for France-Cameroon centre-back Bastien Meupiyou, who currently plays for Portuguese side Alverca.
The 20-year-old left-footed defender, born in Paris on 19 March 2006 and standing at 1.91m, has emerged as a potential target for the Bundesliga club, according to data from Transfermarkt compiled on 7 June 2026. The rumoured switch from Liga Portugal to Germany’s top flight is currently rated with an unspecified probability, listed only as “?” in the latest update.
Meupiyou, who wears the No 33 shirt for Alverca, is valued at €7.00m, a figure that will form part of any negotiation should Dortmund decide to firm up their interest. With no contract start date or expiry recorded for his time at the Portuguese club, there remains the possibility that he could move on favourable terms or even approach free-agent status if his contractual situation allows.
The Franco-Cameroonian defender, who holds both French and Cameroonian nationality, has been operating as a specialist centre-back for Alverca in Liga Portugal, where his height and left-foot profile mark him out as a modern, ball-playing option at the back. His national team is currently listed as FC Alverca, underlining that he has yet to be capped at senior international level for either country.
Alverca’s appearance in the top Portuguese tier has provided Meupiyou with a platform to showcase his ability against higher-level opposition, and recent league fixtures have helped to solidify scouting interest across Europe, including Dortmund’s reported monitoring of his progress.
If a deal does materialise, a move to the Bundesliga would represent a major step in Meupiyou’s development and could prove decisive in shaping both his club career trajectory and his prospects of breaking onto the international stage for France or Cameroon.
