**Bastia’s Yassine Jebbour Sidelined Until December with Thigh Injury**
Sporting Bastia will be without right-back Yassine Jebbour for several weeks after the club confirmed he has sustained a myotendinous lesion in his thigh.
The 24-year-old, who joined the Corsican side from Montpellier during the summer transfer window, has made just one start in three Ligue 1 appearances this season. His injury was revealed following medical tests conducted in Marseille on Thursday.
In a statement, Bastia said surgery was not currently required, though the medical team will seek a second opinion before finalising the treatment plan.
“After undergoing tests in Marseille this Thursday, surgery is not planned for the Bastia full-back, but the club’s medical staff is waiting for a second opinion before making a final decision,” the statement read.
Jebbour’s absence is expected to rule him out until December, leaving Bastia without one of their defensive options during a key period of the Ligue 1 campaign.
The Moroccan international had been brought in to strengthen Bastia’s back line, but his early season has been disrupted by limited game time and now injury. His return is targeted for the final weeks of the calendar year, when the club will hope to have him fully fit for the busy winter schedule.
