Djibril Cissé Could Return to Auxerre Amid Bastia Struggles
Djibril Cissé, 33, currently under contract with SC Bastia until 2015, seems set to leave the Corsican club. Not yet selected by coach Claude Makelele and recovering from injury, Cissé has yet to start the season and has scored only two goals since arriving in January from Russia.
Reports from beIN Sports indicate Cissé has contacted his former club AJ Auxerre, who currently sit 15th in Ligue 2. Auxerre may look to make him their key signing this season.
Cissé’s best years were at Auxerre, where he netted 90 goals in 169 appearances before moving to Liverpool in 2004 for €20 million.
