Djibril Cissé Left Out of SC Bastia Squad by New Coach Ghislain Printant
Djibril Cissé’s future at SC Bastia appears increasingly uncertain. The French striker has been left out of the squad for the club’s crucial Ligue 1 match against Evian-Thonon-Gaillard on Wednesday, a decision made by newly appointed coach Ghislain Printant.
Despite Cissé claiming to be “ready,” Printant stood firm:
“He feels ready, but it’s my decision,” the coach stated, signaling a clear stance on the veteran forward’s role in his tactical plans.
Bastia, currently 19th in Ligue 1, are in dire need of points, but Printant has opted to exclude Cissé from the lineup. Additionally, Sébastien Squillaci, Junior Tallo, and Juan Pablo Pino are out due to injury. On a more positive note, Floyd Ayité has been recalled to the squad, despite recent disciplinary issues related to lateness at training.

Defenders: Cioni, Modesto, Palmieri, Peybernes, Djiku

As Bastia fights to climb out of the relegation zone, the omission of Cissé raises fresh doubts about his standing at the club — and possibly his future in professional football.
