After years of dedication on the pitch, former Al Ahly and Arab Contractors right-back Basem Ali has called time on his football journey.
The veteran defender, known for his calm presence and consistency, made the announcement with heartfelt words that reflect his deep love for the game.
“Today I will miss this game, football, which I have loved since I was a child. I will miss the coaches, players, administrators, locker room workers, and all the officials,” Bassem Ali said in an official statement.
He added: “I will miss the best days of my life on the pitch, but that is the way of life. I thank everyone I have worked with since my start at Ismailia Martyrs Club, then my move to Assiut Petroleum, and then to Al Mokawloon Al Arab, my home club, which contributed to my fame and has a great role in my career and contributed to my brilliance and joining the Egyptian national team.”
Ali’s legacy includes stints with El Gouna and Modern Sport, and a trophy-filled spell at Al Ahly, which he called the happiest chapter of his life.
