Basel linked with Lausanne II winger Ibrahim Mendes

Swiss-Angolan winger Ibrahim Mendes is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Lausanne II to Swiss Super League club Basel.

Mendes, 20, is listed as a right winger and has a contract with Lausanne II until 30 June 2027. He has started both of his appearances in the 2026-27 Super League campaign, playing 69% of the available minutes and scoring once.

The Lausanne-born player returned to Lausanne II at the end of June after completing a loan spell with Stade Nyonnais. He joined Stade Nyonnais on loan in January 2026 before returning to his parent club when the arrangement ended.

Mendes joined Lausanne II in July 2024 from StadeLO III on a free transfer. His current market value is listed at €200,000.

Basel, who compete in Switzerland’s top flight, are the club linked with a possible move for the winger. The rumour does not include a reported transfer fee or probability of the deal being completed.

Mendes has represented both Switzerland and Angola at nationality level, while his current club is Lausanne II, who play in the 1. Liga group 1. His contract means Lausanne would remain in a position to retain him beyond the current season if a move to Basel does not materialise.
