Victor Valdès has reiterated his decision to leave FC Barcelona at the end of the season and not extend his contract. In an interview on Spanish television Antena 3, the Barcelona goalkeeper explained that the pressure of being the goalkeeper for Barça or Real Madrid has become too much after several years. He emphasized that he doesn’t want to play with people’s feelings and is leaving for various reasons, including the wear and tear of the years, the desire for new challenges, and the opportunity to discover another championship. Despite requests from Barcelona’s leaders for him to stay, Valdès is firm in his decision to leave when his contract expires in June 2014. Monaco is reportedly interested in signing him as a replacement for their goalkeeper Daniel Subasic.
