Barcelona are reportedly encountering complications in finalising a deal for highly rated young Egyptian striker Hamza Abdelkarim, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The reported delay is not linked to financial concerns but rather to administrative obstacles that are yet to be resolved.

While sources in Egypt have indicated that the transfer has already been completed, the situation appears more complex from the Barcelona and Spanish football authorities’ perspective.

Abdelkarim, who currently plays for Al Ahly, is on course to become the first Egyptian footballer to sign for Barcelona. However, the move remains unconfirmed as the Catalan club continues to work through the necessary formal procedures.

As a result, there is still a possibility that the transfer may not materialise, despite Al Ahly sporting director Salah El Din publicly announcing that the striker would be joining Barcelona.

In contrast, Barcelona’s other young signings are progressing smoothly. Dutch defender Juwensley Onstein and Uruguayan prospect Patricio Pacífico have both already completed their moves and officially signed with the club, without facing similar administrative challenges.
