Spanish giants FC Barcelona have reportedly made their first official bid to secure the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s star defender Jonathan Tah.
The Catalan club is pushing to finalize the transfer as part of their long-term defensive strategy.
According to Sport.es, Barcelona has proposed a three-year contract to the German international, with an option for a fourth year.
Negotiations are also ongoing regarding the signing bonus, reflecting Barcelona’s determination to bring the experienced central defender to Camp Nou.
The 27-year-old defender is said to favour the move to Catalonia, but he is expected to deliberate on the offer until early January. A final decision from Tah is anticipated within the first two weeks of the new year.
Barcelona has reportedly set a deadline of January 15 for Tah’s response, as the club seeks to solidify its plans for the upcoming season.
With Tah’s potential arrival, Barcelona aims to strengthen its defensive lineup and maintain its competitive edge in La Liga and European competitions.
