Alexandre Song Trains with Barcelona Reserves as He Awaits Next Move
By BBC Sport
Cameroonian international Alexandre Song finds himself in limbo as the new season approaches, with no confirmed destination following his return to FC Barcelona after a season-long loan at West Ham United.
Despite initial interest from the Hammers in making the move permanent, no agreement was reached between the Premier League side and the Spanish club. As a result, the 27-year-old midfielder has been left on the sidelines, currently training with Barcelona’s reserve team.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Barcelona have yet to receive any formal offers for Song, leaving his future uncertain. The La Liga giants are reportedly open to letting him leave, but potential suitors have been slow to act.
Song joined Barcelona from Arsenal in 2012 but struggled to establish himself at the Camp Nou, making limited appearances before being loaned out. His spell at West Ham saw a return to regular football, particularly in the first half of the 2014–15 season, where he impressed with his physicality and experience in midfield.
With just weeks remaining in the transfer window, Song and his representatives will be hoping for a breakthrough soon as the midfielder looks to revive his club career and maintain his place in the Cameroon national team setup.
