Barcelona set to reward Lamine Yamal with new contract boost
Lamine Yamal is set for another Barcelona pay rise after a remarkable start to the season, although the club may have to wait before putting the agreement into effect.
The 19-year-old is already Barcelona’s highest-paid player, earning close to 20 million euros net through salary and bonuses. His last renewal in 2025 included a clause allowing a wage increase after two years, depending on his performances.
Yamal has more than earned that reward. He has become central to Hansi Flick’s side and is now viewed as one of football’s leading young talents.
Barcelona, however, are restricted by their Sports Staff Cost Limit. Their salary bill stands near 581 million euros against a limit of around 582 million, leaving almost no space for an immediate raise.
Club officials expect the limit to rise to about 636 million euros this year. That would create enough room to honour Yamal’s promised increase while allowing the club to continue working on other contract talks.
Rodri and Raphinha are among the players closest to Yamal’s earnings, though neither is expected to stay near his level once the new deal is activated.
