Barcelona reunite international squad ahead of Getafe match as Raphinha remains a doubt

Barcelona completed the return of their international players on Thursday, giving manager Hansi Flick almost his full squad for the final preparations before Saturday’s meeting with Getafe.

The remaining players joined training at the Joan Gamper Sports City after several days away on international duty. Pau Cubarsi, Rodri, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal were among those to return, alongside Anthony Gordon and Dominik Livakovic.

Their arrival means Flick now has the full group of international players available to him for the first time during the current break. A total of 17 Barcelona players had been away representing their national teams, leaving the German manager to work with a significantly reduced squad for most of the interval.

Barcelona will now have two training sessions before Saturday’s fixture. With the majority of his players back, Flick will be able to assess his options more clearly and begin finalising his line-up for the match against Getafe.

The return of the internationals has not, however, resolved the uncertainty surrounding Raphinha.

The Brazil forward returned early from international duty after experiencing pain in his right thigh. He is following a specific recovery programme and trained separately from the rest of the squad on Thursday.

Flick must now assess Raphinha’s progress before deciding whether he is fit enough to rejoin the team. The manager will also have to determine how much risk would be involved in selecting him after his recent spell on the sidelines.

With only two sessions remaining before the weekend match, Raphinha’s condition is expected to remain one of the main selection issues facing Flick as Barcelona prepare to face Getafe.
