Spanish champions FC Barcelona have reportedly re-entered the race for the signing of Nico Williams.
It has been reported that the club remains interested in securing the services of the Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent and will consider a move for him this summer.
FC Barcelona came close to signing Nico Williams in the summer transfer window of 2024.
Nico Williams, 22, at the time, felt pressure due to a lot of interest from other top European clubs.
In the end, he decided to stay at Athletic Club and signed a contract extension deal with the side.
After a feeling of disappointment, Barcelona moved on from Nico Williams, with some club officials indicating that the chapter on the youngster’s possible signing is closed.
A year on, Barcelona have reportedly made a u-turn and are considering a move to sign Nico Williams this summer.
Barcelona faces competition from Bayern Munich and Arsenal. The club can, however, go ahead to pay his release clause of €58 million to secure his signing.
