Barcelona renew pursuit of Omar Marmoush to replace Lewandowski

Barcelona have revived their interest in Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush as they search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

The Egyptian attacker has impressed since arriving at City, and his profile fits what the Spanish club are looking for.

Marmoush made his City debut on January 25, 2025, in a 3-1 Premier League win over Chelsea, and he quickly settled into Pep Guardiola’s system. He went on to make 25 appearances across all competitions in the 2024-25 season, scoring eight goals and even netting a hat-trick in one league match in February. Guardiola later praised how smoothly he adapted to the team.

Barcelona like Marmoush’s movement, combination play, and ability to link attacks, but the deal would not be simple. Manchester City are expected to demand a major fee, while Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, and Galatasaray are also monitoring the situation.

For now, Marmoush remains a player Barcelona admire closely, especially as they plan for life after Lewandowski.
