La Liga side FC Barcelona have rejected AS Monaco’s offer for Spanish forward of Guinea-Bissau descent, Ansu Fati.
Monaco had shown early interest in securing the services of the talented winger before the 2024/25 football season ended.
However, their offer included only a one-season loan deal with the Ligue 1 club covering just a fraction of Fati’s salary. These terms do not align with Barcelona’s plans.
The Catalan giants are open to parting ways with Fati but would prefer a permanent transfer that includes a resale clause, allowing them to retain rights to the player’s future.
A short-term loan with minimal financial commitment does not appeal to the club.
With negotiations at a standstill, Ansu Fati’s proposed move to Monaco is unlikely to materialise unless new terms are presented.
Meanwhile, Fati’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is actively exploring alternative opportunities for the 22-year-old as the summer transfer window approaches.
If Monaco want to sign Fati, they will have to return with a better offer to Barcelona.
