A fresh transfer battle is reportedly taking shape between Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF, with both clubs showing strong interest in Moroccan midfielder Neil El Aynaoui.

The Roma player is said to be weighing up his future ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, amid growing uncertainty over his role at the Italian club.

El Aynaoui made the move to AS Roma from Lens in the summer of 2025, but has struggled to secure a regular place in the starting lineup.

Under head coach Gian Piero Gasperini, the Moroccan has found game time limited, fueling speculation about a possible departure.

Reports indicate that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are closely monitoring his situation, with the two La Liga rivals keen to strengthen their midfield options ahead of next season.

Despite limited opportunities, El Aynaoui has featured in 29 matches across all competitions this season, registering one goal and one assist.

He remains tied to Roma on a long-term deal that runs until the summer of 2030, but interest from two of Europe’s biggest clubs could reshape his future in the months ahead.
