Barcelona are no longer interested in signing Spanish international of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams ahead of the summer transfer window.
For a large portion of last summer, Barcelona were understood to be keen about the signing of Nico Williams, who plies his trade for Athletic Bilbao.
He came close to joining the Catalan giants last summer but the move fell through after Barcelona failed to trigger his release clause.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona have withdrawn their interest in the acquisition of the enterprising window.
Barcelona have closely monitored Nico Williams’ performances this season, and believes he is currently not worth the 60 million euros stipulated in his contract as a release clause.
However, Barcelona will be on the lookout for a new player for the left-wing position.
This season, Williams has only scored 3 goals and provided 5 assists in 21 La Liga matches.
In all competitions, the talented winger has made 32 appearances for Athletic Bilbao, scoring six goals and providing seven assists across the period.
