Barcelona linked with Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi of Girona

Morocco midfielder Azzedine Ounahi has been linked with a move from Girona to Barcelona, with the LaLiga side’s player attracting interest from the Spanish top-flight club.

Ounahi, 26, joined Girona from Marseille on 30 August 2025 in a €6m transfer and is under contract until 30 June 2030. His current market value is listed at €18m, although no proposed fee has been reported for a potential move to Barcelona.

The central midfielder has made 24 LaLiga appearances during his career, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Girona were relegated from the top flight in the 2025-26 season and are listed as a LaLiga 2 club for the 2026-27 campaign.

Ounahi has also featured for Morocco at the 2026 World Cup, starting 83% of his side’s possible matches and playing 77% of the available minutes. He scored twice in six appearances. The midfielder was part of Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations-winning team in 2025.

His move to Girona followed a season-long loan at Panathinaikos, where he had joined from Marseille in September 2024. Marseille had signed him from Angers in January 2023 for €8m.

There has been no indication that an agreement has been reached between Girona and Barcelona. Ounahi remains a Girona player with four years left on his contract.
