Barcelona make formal approach for Jesse Bisiwu

Barcelona have reportedly made an official approach for highly rated 18-year-old Ghanaian winger Jesse Bisiwu, as the summer transfer window approaches.

The teenage forward, who currently plays for Club Brugge KV, has rapidly emerged as one of the most exciting prospects in Belgian football, with his performances in youth competitions drawing widespread attention from top European scouts.

Bisiwu has impressed particularly in the UEFA Youth League, where he has showcased explosive pace, close control, and the ability to consistently beat defenders in one-on-one situations. His standout displays have marked him out as a player with clear potential to step into elite senior football in the near future.

According to reports in Spain, Barcelona scouts were recently present in Switzerland during the Youth League Final Four, where they closely monitored Bisiwu’s performance in a high-profile clash against rivals Real Madrid at the Stade de la Tuilière.

Despite his current contract with Club Brugge running until 2027, Barcelona are believed to be confident about their chances of securing a deal. The Catalan club has already made contact with the player’s representatives, signalling the seriousness of their intent and opening early discussions over a potential transfer.

The move fits into Barcelona’s ongoing recruitment philosophy, which continues to prioritise young, high-ceiling talents capable of developing into first-team stars at the club’s famed La Masia-inspired system.

Club Brugge, however, are in no rush to part ways with one of their most promising academy graduates. The Belgian side view Bisiwu as a key part of their future project and are expected to resist any early attempts to prise him away.

Still, Barcelona’s growing interest could set the stage for a competitive transfer battle in the coming months, with several European clubs also believed to be tracking the winger’s rapid rise.

For Bisiwu, the attention represents another major milestone in a career that is accelerating quickly. Still only 18, he is now firmly on the radar of some of Europe’s biggest clubs — and Barcelona’s official move could be the first major step toward a high-profile transfer saga this summer.
