Spanish giants FC Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Germany-born forward of Nigerian descent, Karim Adeyemi.

According to Bild, Barca’s sporting director Deco is convinced that the 23-year-old could become a key figure under Hansi Flick.

Adeyemi is currently contracted to Dortmund until 2027, and the Bundesliga club is keen to extend his stay by offering him a lucrative pay rise. However, Dortmund have placed a hefty €80 million price tag on the winger, making any potential move financially challenging for Barcelona.

To navigate this, reports suggest Barca are exploring the possibility of a swap deal involving Ferran Torres. While Torres can operate both centrally and on the wings, Dortmund’s recent signing of Fabio Silva means the club is unlikely to prioritise another forward in exchange.

Another factor complicating matters is Adeyemi’s new association with super-agent Jorge Mendes, renowned for negotiating high-profile transfers across Europe. Still, Dortmund remain confident of persuading Adeyemi to extend his stay, with head coach Niko Kovac’s influence and the player’s own comfort at the club playing in their favour.

Adeyemi’s future now hangs in the balance, with Barcelona’s interest likely to test Dortmund’s resolve in the coming months.

The attacker has started the 2025/26 football season strongly, establishing himself as a key forward for Borussia Dortmund.
