Hamza Abdelkarim’s market value has risen to €8m after a rapid start to his career with Barcelona and the Egypt national team.
The 18-year-old’s valuation was updated by Transfermarkt on Monday, 5 October 2026, increasing from €1.5m in June 2026. That represents a 433% rise in just four months.
Abdelkarim is now ranked as the third-most valuable Egyptian player. He is also 20th among Barcelona players and 152nd among all players in La Liga, according to the latest Transfermarkt figures.
The forward’s global rankings place him 1,546th among all players for market value, while he is 224th among recognised strikers. He is also ranked 26th among players born in 2008.
Abdelkarim joined Barcelona from Egyptian club Al Ahly in the summer of 2026 in a move that attracted considerable attention in both Africa and Spain. He was subsequently called up to the Egypt senior squad for the 2026 World Cup under manager Hossam Hassan.
Barcelona have extended Abdelkarim’s contract until 30 June 2030, securing the club’s long-term commitment to one of Africa’s most highly regarded young players.
He has made one La Liga appearance during the 2026-27 season and has yet to score or provide an assist. However, he remains at the beginning of his time in the first team under manager Hansi Flick.
His progress with Egypt has also contributed significantly to the rise in his valuation. Abdelkarim has emerged as one of the promising names in the Pharaohs’ squad and scored his first senior international goal against South Sudan a few days ago.
That goal came in the second round of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
