Belgium international of Guinean descent Malick Fofana has emerged as a top transfer target for Spanish giants, Barcelona.

The Spanish football heavyweights are keen on bolstering the left-wing of their attacker, with Fofana emerging as a priority target for the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have already contracted the enterprising winger’s representatives and are closely monitoring the situation at Lyon.

The French Ligue 1 giants could be force to cash in on the Belgian-Guinea attacker due to financial constraints.

Initially, Barcelona planned to trigger the buyout clause for Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan, but the deal has been complicated by the Englishman’s high salary and Manchester United’s €30 million asking price.

However, Barcelona could turn their attention to Fofana should negotiations for Rashford collapse.

Fofana joined Lyon from Gent in January 2024 for €19.5 million and has already made 12 appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. Liverpool and Arsenal are also reportedly interested in the winger.
