Barcelona delay Karim Adeyemi official unveiling again amid final paperwork checks

Barcelona have once more pushed back the official announcement of Karim Adeyemi’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund, extending an already drawn-out saga and testing the patience of excited supporters.

According to Diario SPORT, the club now plans to confirm the deal on Thursday, despite the agreement having been in place for over a week.

The hold-up is not sporting but administrative. Barcelona’s hierarchy, led by president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, have chosen to finalise every contractual and bureaucratic detail before going public, keen to avoid the kind of confusion that surrounded Anthony Gordon’s presentation earlier this summer.

The Catalan giants will pay a fixed fee of 22 million euros plus 7 million in bonuses, with Adeyemi signing a five-year contract worth around 6 million euros per season.

Once the move is finally rubber-stamped, the 24-year-old German forward will link up with Hansi Flick’s squad and then travel with the team to England for their upcoming pre-season camp. Barcelona fans are eagerly waiting to see the club unveil Adeyemi, hoping his pace and directness can add a new dimension to the attack after a period of transition in the forward line.
