Barcelona consider resting Raphinha for Getafe match

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is considering leaving Raphinha out of the game against Getafe as he looks to manage the forward’s workload before a demanding run of fixtures.

Barcelona will return to action against Getafe in their first match after the current international break. The La Liga fixture is scheduled for 10 October and will be the club’s eighth league game of the season.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Flick is weighing up whether to rest Raphinha ahead of a challenging sequence of matches. Barcelona are due to face Galatasaray, Real Betis, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid after the Getafe fixture.

Gabriel Jesus is considered more likely than Hamza Abdelkarim to replace the Brazil forward should Raphinha be left out, the report added.

Raphinha has made eight appearances for Barcelona this season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions and providing three assists.

Hamza Abdelkarim, meanwhile, has played once for Barcelona during the campaign, featuring for four minutes.
