Barcelona consider €80m move for Eli Junior Kroupi
Barcelona are preparing alternatives in case their pursuit of Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez fails, with Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi emerging as one of their preferred options.
The 20-year-old Frenchman has reportedly impressed manager Hansi Flick, who sees him as a suitable addition to the Catalan attack.
According to reports from German outlet Bild, Barcelona consider Kroupi a serious candidate. His pace, movement and finishing ability have helped him attract attention since leaving Lorient for Bournemouth. However, any transfer would require a substantial financial commitment, with the Premier League club reportedly demanding more than €80 million.
Barcelona must also consider Kroupi’s current fitness situation. The young attacker is sidelined with a serious injury, creating an additional risk if the club decides to invest such a large fee before knowing when he will return.
Alvarez remains Barcelona’s main target, but Atletico are proving difficult to convince. The Argentina international reportedly wants to move to Catalonia and could push for an exit, although negotiations remain complicated.
Kroupi is not the only fallback option under consideration. Barcelona are also monitoring Harry Kane, Serhou Guirassy and Alexander Sorloth as they prepare for different outcomes in the transfer market.
