Barcelona are confident of securing the services of Spanish international of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao this summer.
Williams, who is the younger brother of Inaki has become one of the most sought-after players, with Arsenal, Bayern Munich and expressing keen interest in the winger.
According to reports, the 22-year-old winger prefers to stay in Spain as he is keen on a move to Barcelona. Despite interest from others clubs, Barcelona remain confident of snapping up the talented winger in the ongoing transfer window.
The La Liga champions have scheduled a meeting with the player’s agent, as they seeks to lure the attacker to the club before the start of the new campaign.
Williams came close to joining Barcelona last summer, but the move ultimately fell through due Athletic Bilbao’s financial demands.
Athletic Bilbao is currently under intense pressure, with the attacker giving green light for Barcelona this time.
The 22-year-old made 29 appearances in the La Liga in the just ended campaign, scoring five goals and delivering five assists across the period.
