Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdel Karim remains ineligible to feature for Barcelona Athletic, as the club faces stumbling block in registering the talented forward.
The Spanish powerhouse sealed a move for the Egyptian prospect in the recently concluded window, securing his signature on a six months loan with an option to buy from Al Ahly.
Barcelona had expressed a strong desire to acquire the services of the attacker in the winter, having showcased a strong and an impressive performance at the Under-17 World Cup with Egypt.
Karim has already commenced training with Barcelona Athletic after securing his dream move in the just ended window, but remains ineligible to play for the club.
Despite the slow bureaucratic procedures for African football players, the Spanish giants are seeking to speed up all procedures to get Abdel Karim registered in order to feature as soon as possible.
Barcelona Athletic will give Abdel Karim the opportunity to integrate further into training and daily life in the dressing room until he obtains legal approval to play.
The Egyptian youngster will face stiff competition for his place in Barcelona’s reserve team, as Joaquin Delgado currently occupies the main striker position, and Belletti relies on Oscar Gesto, who is another attacking option for this position.
However, the club is firmly committed to the Egyptian star and will seek to ensure his adaptation by providing high-level opportunities.
