Barcelona have reached an agreement with Xavi Espart’s representatives to extend the 19-year-old defender’s contract until 2030, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
Espart’s current deal with Barcelona is due to expire in the summer of 2028. The new agreement will also include improved terms for the player.
The right-back has impressed during his recent appearances, prompting Barcelona’s board to begin discussions over a new contract. His performances have come as the club continues its policy of securing the futures of promising young players.
Barcelona have also renewed the contract of Hamza Abdelkarim, who has agreed to remain with the club until 2030.
Espart has made five appearances for Barcelona during the current season, scoring once and providing two assists.
The defender developed through Barcelona’s academy and has never played for another club, representing the Blaugrana throughout his career.
