FC Barcelona have made a breakthrough in their quest to sign Spanish forward of Ghanaian descent Nico Williams.
The La Liga Champions have reportedly agreed personal terms with the talented youngster in a deal that will see the Athletic Club forward earning €12 million per season if the deal goes through.
According to reports, Bayern Munich are also targeting a top-quality left winger this summer, with Williams among their preferred options.
However, the player is believed to favour a move to Barcelona.
Transfer insider Santi Aouna reports that Barcelona and Williams have already reached a preliminary agreement on a contract running until 2031, with the winger set to receive a gross salary of €12 million per year.
While this is a strong indication of Williams’ desire to join the Catalan giants, the deal remains uncertain.
Barcelona’s ongoing financial issues mean they will likely need to sell players before they can complete the transfer.
It is understood that FC Barcelona must offload several players through transfers to be able to facilitate a move.
