The Bank of Kigali has signed a landmark five-year sponsorship agreement worth $2.2 million with the Rwanda Premier League, in a move that will see the country’s top-flight football competition rebranded as the BK Pro League.

The partnership marks one of the most significant commercial investments in Rwandan football in recent years, strengthening the financial foundation of the domestic league and signaling renewed confidence in the sport’s growth trajectory.

Under the agreement, the Bank of Kigali will serve as the official title sponsor of the league, which will now adopt a new identity reflecting the bank’s branding.

The deal is expected to enhance league operations, improve club support structures, and boost the overall professionalism of the competition.

Football stakeholders in Rwanda have welcomed the development, describing it as a major step toward elevating the standard and visibility of the domestic game.

The sponsorship will run for five years, during which the financial institution is expected to work closely with league organisers to support development initiatives, marketing, and fan engagement activities.

The rebranded BK Pro League is set to usher in a new era for Rwandan club football, with expectations of increased competitiveness and commercial appeal.
