Bamba Dieng: Senegal striker linked with surprise Hull City move

Senegal forward Bamba Dieng, currently without a club after leaving FC Lorient this summer, is being linked with a move to Premier League side Hull City.

The 26-year-old centre-forward, who has a reported market value of around €15m, became a free agent on 1 July following the end of his spell at Lorient, making him an attainable option for clubs seeking attacking reinforcements late in the window. Hull are monitoring the situation as they weigh up adding further depth in the final third ahead of the new campaign.

Dieng built his reputation in France, featuring regularly in Ligue 1 and amassing 111 appearances, 28 goals and eight assists in the competition. He also enjoyed a prolific return in the Coupe de France, scoring nine times in 11 matches. His time at Lorient included a loan stint at Angers in the 2024-25 season before he returned to help Lorient win the French second tier title in 2024-25.

On the international stage, the Pikine-born striker was part of the Senegal squad that lifted the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022 and has remained in the national-team picture, featuring at the 2026 World Cup.

Hull’s interest comes at a moment when Dieng is free to negotiate directly with potential suitors, with no transfer fee required after his Lorient contract ended. He remains available on the market while talks over his next club continue.
