Bamba Dieng: Senegal striker linked with shock Amed SK move from free agency
Senegal forward Bamba Dieng, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Amed SK as the 26-year-old weighs up his next step after leaving FC Lorient.
Dieng became a free agent on 1 July following his departure from Lorient, where his market value was last assessed at €15m, making any potential agreement with Amed SK a notable coup if it progresses. Talks are understood to be at a preliminary stage, with the Super Lig club exploring the feasibility of bringing in the centre-forward on a permanent deal.
The Pikine-born striker enjoyed a productive spell in French football, registering 28 goals and eight assists in 111 Ligue 1 appearances. He also proved particularly effective in domestic cup competition, scoring nine times in 11 Coupe de France outings, including five goals in three appearances in the 2025–26 campaign.
Dieng’s stock rose sharply after helping Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations in 2022, a triumph that underpinned his subsequent move from Marseille to Lorient in January 2023 for a reported €7m fee. A loan spell at Angers in 2024–25 preceded his return to Lorient, where he was part of the squad that secured the French second-tier title in 2024–25.
Amed SK are monitoring the market for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new Super Lig season and see the free transfer route as an opportunity to add top-flight experience from one of Europe’s major leagues. Dieng remains unattached as he considers his options, with interest from Turkey offering a potential route back into regular top-flight football.
