Bamba Dieng: Senegal striker linked with Erzurumspor FK move
Senegal forward Bamba Dieng, currently without a club after leaving FC Lorient, is being linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig side Erzurumspor FK. The 26-year-old centre-forward, who is available on a free transfer this summer, is attracting interest after his contract with the French club came to an end on 1 July 2026.
Dieng’s potential switch would offer Erzurumspor FK the chance to add a proven Ligue 1 attacker without paying a transfer fee, despite the player holding a current market value of around €15m. The Turkish club are understood to be exploring options in the forward positions, with Dieng’s record in France and experience on the international stage placing him among the notable names on their list.
The Pikine-born striker has made 111 Ligue 1 appearances in his career, scoring 28 goals and adding eight assists, and has also been particularly effective in the Coupe de France, where he has found the net nine times in 11 games. Last season he underlined his sharpness in front of goal in the domestic cup with five strikes in three appearances.
Dieng was part of the Senegal squad that lifted the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2022, adding further pedigree to any prospective deal. He also helped Lorient secure the French second-tier title in the 2024-25 campaign, enhancing his reputation before his departure from the club this summer.
For now, Dieng remains a free agent, weighing up his next move as Erzurumspor FK consider whether to step up their interest in bringing the Senegal international to the Super Lig.
