The FIFA Ballon d’Or calendar has been announced, with the official publication of the 23 candidates set for October 29. The winner’s name will be revealed on January 13, 2014, during the ceremony in Zurich, Switzerland. Lionel Messi, the current FIFA World Player of the Year, is the favorite to win the title for the fifth consecutive year. Other contenders include Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Franck Ribéry (Bayern Munich), and Neymar (FC Barcelona).
