Vahid Halilhodzic, the coach of the Algerian national football team, revealed his choices for the FIFA/France Football Ballon d’Or. The Franco-Bosnian coach opted for three attackers in his podium selection, including Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the two big favorites. The third player in his vote is Ivorian striker Didier Drogba.
Halilhodzic explained his choices, stating, “I start from the principle that scoring goals is not an easy task, hence my choice to vote for the attackers. I won’t hide from you that in addition to these three world-class attackers, I am dazzled by Falcao’s qualities. I believe that if he plays in a big club like Real or Barça, he will be able to score more goals.”
Among the three players, Halilhodzic ranked Lionel Messi, the Argentine forward from Barcelona, in the first position. Didier Drogba, the captain of the Ivory Coast national team and a nominee for the title of the best African player of the year, was Halilhodzic’s third choice. Halilhodzic had previously coached Drogba in 2010.
