Bakery Jatta steps up recovery as Hamburg target return during busy schedule

Bakery Jatta has taken another step towards returning to action for Hamburger SV after resuming partial training following his adductor problems.

The 28-year-old winger joined his teammates for the warm-up at the start of training on Tuesday before continuing with an individual programme after approximately 40 minutes, according to the Hamburger Morgenpost.

Jatta has been sidelined by the injury and missed Hamburg’s recent Bundesliga home fixture against VfB Stuttgart. His gradual return to training offers encouragement to head coach Merlin Polzin, who is hoping to increase the winger’s workload over the coming days.

“We hope we can increase the workload for Baka during the English week,” Polzin said.

The Hamburg coach is keen to have more attacking options available as the club prepares for a demanding run of fixtures. However, Jatta has yet to resume full team training, and his availability for the upcoming matches remains uncertain.

The winger’s recovery will depend on how he responds to the increased workload, with the coaching staff expected to assess his progress before deciding when he can return to competitive action.

For now, Jatta’s participation in the warm-up represents a positive development for HSV, although the club will be cautious about rushing him back before he is fully fit.
