Bakery Jatta nears full HSV training return
Bakery Jatta is close to making his full return to team training at Hamburger SV after recovering from a thigh injury sustained in early March.
The 27-year-old has made steady progress and could soon be back in the squad for the decisive phase of the season.
Jatta has already completed several individual sessions with the ball and has successfully taken part in sprint exercises without showing any physical issues. According to a report from the Hamburger Morgenpost, there are no more complaints, and his rehabilitation is running according to plan.
HSV plans to reintegrate Jatta into full team training during the coming week, with the goal of having him fully involved by the end of that period. This step would mark the final phase of his comeback process before a competitive return.
If everything continues smoothly, Jatta could already be considered for the matchday squad in the upcoming Bundesliga game against FC Augsburg on Saturday. For head coach Merlin Polzin, this would provide an extra option on the wing for the season run-in.
Before his injury, Jatta had secured a place in the starting lineup on the right side and delivered a series of convincing performances. His comeback could quickly restore internal competition, particularly with William Mikelbrencis, who has also been competing for that position.
