Bafana Bafana forward Mihlali Mayambela on target for Aris Limassol in 4-0 mauling of Paralimniou
Mihlali Mayambela found the back of the net on Saturday as Aris Limassol powered to a commanding 4-0 win over Enosis Neon Paralimniou in the Cypriot First Division.
The Bafana Bafana winger was introduced at the start of the second half and made an immediate impact, striking in the 71st minute to register Limassol’s third goal of the evening. His contribution takes his season tally to three goal involvements.
With the win, the 2022/23 Cyprus League champions reclaimed top spot on the table, overtaking defending champions Pafos FC, who play Krasava ENY on Sunday.
Mayambela, 29, has also been named in Bafana Bafana’s provisional 55-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Hugo Broos is expected to trim the list to 26 players on Monday, and Mayambela, who featured five times in the previous AFCON and last represented South Africa in March 2024, will be hoping to earn his place once again.
