Badr Benoun: Raja Casablanca and Morocco defender linked with Hassania move

Morocco centre-back Badr Benoun is being linked with a return to Botola Pro rivals Hassania, with the Raja Casablanca defender reportedly on the radar of the Agadir club despite being under contract until 2027.

Benoun, 32, rejoined Raja on 1 July 2025 and is currently tied to the Casablanca giants for another year, but his situation is attracting interest within the Moroccan top flight. Hassania are understood to be exploring a deal for the experienced defender, whose market value is listed at around €750,000, as they look to reinforce their back line with proven domestic and continental pedigree.

The Casablanca-born defender has established himself as one of the league’s most recognisable figures, standing at 1.93m and operating primarily at centre-back. His profile is enhanced by significant experience in African competition, having won the CAF Champions League with Al Ahly in 2020-21 and lifting the CAF Super Cup on three occasions, including once with Raja.

Benoun has also enjoyed considerable domestic success with Raja, twice winning the Moroccan league title and adding multiple domestic cups, as well as the CAF Confederation Cup in 2017-18. That trophy-laden spell has underlined his status as a high-profile figure in Moroccan football and a potential marquee addition for any Botola Pro side.

Raja face a decision over whether to cash in on a senior defender who still has a year left on his deal or keep him at the heart of their defence for the duration of his contract, which is currently due to run until 30 June 2027.
