Baba Alhassan is being linked with a return to FC Hermannstadt, with reports in Romania suggesting the FC SB midfielder could be on the move within the SuperLiga.
The 25-year-old defensive midfielder, currently on the books at FCSB, is the subject of transfer speculation over a switch back to Hermannstadt, the club he left for the Bucharest side in January 2024. Data from Transfermarkt lists the move only as a rumour, with the probability of a deal rated as unclear (“?”), underlining that talks – if any – are at a very early stage.
Alhassan’s current market value is given as €900k, a figure that will shape any negotiations between the SuperLiga rivals. With no public information on the length of his existing terms at FCSB, observers have also floated the possibility that a breakdown in talks over a new agreement could see him edge towards free‑agent territory in future, which would significantly alter Hermannstadt’s calculus.
Born on 3 January 2000 in Accra, Alhassan represents both Uganda and Ghana at nationality level and has built a reputation as a right‑footed holding midfielder capable of shielding the back line. He first joined Hermannstadt in October 2020 after a spell without a club, having previously been on the books of Real Valladolid’s U19 side in Spain. His rise in Romania was reflected in his market value, which climbed from €150k in 2020 at Hermannstadt to peaks around €1m after his move to FCSB.
Having already proved himself in the SuperLiga with both Hermannstadt and FCSB, a return to Sibiu would be a familiar step rather than a leap into the unknown. If the transfer does materialise, it could mark the next phase of Alhassan’s career, offering him a central role and a platform to rebuild momentum and enhance his standing in Romanian football.
