Azam FC linked with DR Congo centre-back Idumba Fasika in Al-Ahly transfer rumour

DR Congo defender Idumba Fasika has been linked with a move from Al-Ahly to Tanzanian club Azam FC.

The 27-year-old centre-back joined Al-Ahly from South African side Chippa United on 1 January 2026 in a deal valued at €200,000. He had signed for Chippa United from Cape Town City five months earlier.

Fasika has also played in the CAF Champions League, making four appearances in the competition. His career record includes 61 Betway Premiership appearances and two goals, alongside spells in Norway’s second tier and the Libyan Premier League.

The defender began his senior career with St-Eloi Lupopo before moving to Cape Town City in 2021. He spent part of the 2023-24 season on loan at Norwegian club Valerenga, returning to Cape Town City at the end of that campaign.

The link with Azam FC comes less than a year after Fasika moved to Al-Ahly, where his current contract runs until 30 June 2027. No transfer fee or probability has been attached to the reported interest, and the move remains at the rumour stage.
