Ayyoub Bouaddi has not decided on the country he will represent at the national team level

Ayyoub Bouaddi has revealed that he is yet to make a final decision on his international allegiance, emphasising the need to take his time before committing to a national team.

The Lille OSC midfielder made the remarks during a press conference while on duty with France’s second national team setup, describing the choice as one of the most significant decisions of his career. For now, he is in no hurry to settle the matter.

“I have not made my decision yet,” he said. “Choosing a national team is a major step in a player’s career. I want to give myself time, and I do not want to move too quickly.”

His comments come at a time when speculation continues to build around his international future. At just 18, Bouaddi is eligible to represent more than one country, placing him firmly in the spotlight in both France and Morocco.

The young midfielder also made it clear that he has not placed any timeline on his decision. When asked if he hoped to resolve the issue ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, he dismissed the idea of setting a deadline.

“There is no deadline,” he said. “It is a personal decision. It has to come from the heart.”

That stance reflects his desire to remain focused on his development on the pitch rather than external expectations. Bouaddi further downplayed the growing debate, insisting that he is not under any pressure to choose one country over another.

He added that family considerations will play a key role when the time comes to make his decision, stressing that such a choice goes beyond footballing factors alone.

“You also have to think about your family and the people you love,” he said. “There is no pressure around this.”

Bouaddi’s rapid rise at club level has naturally drawn attention to his international situation. As one of the most exciting young midfield prospects in French football, his next move on the international stage remains a topic of keen interest.

For now, however, the door remains open, with Bouaddi taking a measured approach as he weighs up where his international future will ultimately lie.
