Ayyoub Bouaddi explains calm start at Manchester City
Ayyoub Bouaddi has made an encouraging start to life at Manchester City, with his composed display against Porto earning praise from Enzo Maresca and his new teammates.
The teenager completed his first full appearance for the club in the Champions League victory and looked comfortable despite the occasion.
Bouaddi believes his calm nature has helped him adjust quickly following his summer move. “It’s part of my personality,” he said. “That is who I am and I try to be myself.”
The midfielder admitted that waiting for the transfer to be completed was important because it concerned his future, but he refused to allow the uncertainty to overwhelm him. Instead, he chose to remain patient and enjoy the experience.
“I wouldn’t say that I didn’t care,” Bouaddi explained. “Of course I cared because it’s about my future and my life but I stayed really calm. I’m someone who just watches what will happen and enjoys life.”
Now that the move is complete, the young player is focused on making the most of every day. He also praised City’s squad for helping him settle, saying their quality makes it easier to perform confidently.
Bouaddi added that he was proud of the victory and believes his partnership with his teammates can become even stronger as the season continues.
