Ayoub El Hmidi: Gibraltar winger joins Al-Dhaid from Jubbah Club
Gibraltar-Morocco winger Ayoub El Hmidi has joined United Arab Emirates side Al-Dhaid from Saudi Arabian outfit Jubbah Club.
The 25-year-old left winger, who was born in Gibraltar and also holds Moroccan nationality, makes the move after one season with Jubbah, which he had joined on a free transfer from USM Oujda in September 2025. He links up with Al-Dhaid at a time when his market value stands at €125,000.
El Hmidi has built a reputation as an attacking wide player across several leagues, with his most extensive senior experience coming in the Gibraltar Football League, where he made 46 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing five assists. He also featured in the league’s Championship and Challenge groups, as well as domestic cup competitions, contributing further goals and assists.
A stint in North African and European football has added variety to his career, with the left winger gaining minutes in Ligue 1 and the Moroccan Coupe du Trone, where he found the net once in two appearances. He has also experienced European competition through games in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
Standing at 1.82m, El Hmidi has moved frequently in recent seasons, with spells at clubs including Bruno’s Magpies, KACM Marrakech and CD Torrijos following his early senior career in Gibraltar.
The transfer sees El Hmidi complete a permanent switch to Al-Dhaid, where he will continue his career as an attacking option on the left flank.
